Abstract

Historically India Has An Ineradicable Traditions And Civilization Of 5000 Years Back. India's Ancient As Well As Continuing Civilisation Has Attracted And Captured The Attention Of The World. Extremelywealthy And Diverse Culture Of India Has Been A Focus Of Study Across The World. It Has Been Observed From The Studies That The Holy Places Are Unique In Their Ancient History, Architecture And Temple. The Temples Are Profound Of Admirationand The Centre For Meditation And Peace. In Spite Of The Rise Of Devoted Temples Built Of Stone, Cave Temples Have Been Used Throughout The History Of Jain From About The Sixth Century. Presently, Many Artificial Caves Have Also Been Created. In The Earliest, Southern Part Of India Has Jain Monuments Which Are Rock-Cut Structures Of Beads Inculcated With Inscriptions And Drip-Ledges. Chokkanthoongi Hills Known As Chitharal Hills Are Located In The Southern Most Part Of India In Kanya Kumari District. Chitharal Hills Are The Jain Monument Where A Rock-Cut Jain Temple Is Carved. In This Paper We Focus On The Jain Pilgrimage In Chitharal Which Is Famous For Its Hillocks And Ancient Jain Monuments Containing Rock-Cut Sculptures Of Thirthankaras And Dieties.
