Improving Network Efficiency with Software Defined Network Congestion Management

Published 2021-12-23

Abstract

SDN, or software-defined networking, is a paradigm shift in the networking industry since it allows for programmable and centralized network management. Within this context, it is essential to have efficient congestion control algorithms to guarantee constant network operation, equitable distribution of resources, and the best possible user experience. Mininet simulations were run with four distinct fanouts, with results examined for changes in matrix performance. Therefore, as the number of fanouts rose in the topology, packet loss and throughput decreased. With the help of the LLDP protocol, the proportion of lost packets has been drastically reduced, and the percentage of delivered packets has been increased.
